As we spiral endlessly toward the abysmal frontiers of late stage capitalism we find ourselves, minds fattened by relentless torrents of slop, seeking the most rancid, perverted, and impure visual distractions to satiate our merciless appetites. We set it, yet again, to our bile-full brood “Find us the horror films that every measly mortal must witness!” and once more they have yielded a cadaverous compendium so gruesome, so foul and curdled, that your skin may starting crawling right off your bones! So fortify your puny spirit, blink those content harrowed eyes, and wipe that slack-jawed visage from your zombified mug and PREPARE for the miseries that lurk below…
Agita: Vampires Kiss (1988)
“The horror of thinking you’re a vampire, but your just Nic cage”
Where to watch: Tubi

ASSISTED LIVING: Henry Portrait of a serial killer (1986)
“I like it cuz it’s the opposite of the Ryan Murphy Netflix true crime mcu that everyone’s currently obsessed with. [Rooker] he’s such a psycho in it ‘plug it in Otis’ “
Where to watch: Tubi, Prime

BEAUTY: Event Horizon (1997)
“”Wild style perhaps but gotta do a Sam Neil movie RIP”
Where to watch: Tubi, Paramount+

Bruise Bath: Candyman (1992)
“We are picking a gayer movie this year. Gayer and Blacker. -GL
Also Tony Todd has live bees in his mouth for this.-ZK”
Where to watch: Peacock, Prime, Tubi

Big Burly: A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)
“It’s actually kind of fucked up. I love sleeping so its truly a nightmare.”
Where to watch: HBO

Concrete Caveman: The Boxer’s Omen (1983)
“It rules. Black magic warlocks versus Buddhist monks. These two factions are out for revenge in a constant battle of curses and bizzare rituals that will keep you both confused and disgusted. The effects utilize a combination of obviously handmade props along with what im pretty sure is real guts, gore and viscera. As the movie progresses it finds new and exciting ways to continue to gross you out leaving you wonder did they really just do that? Holy shit.”
Where to watch: Shudder, YouTube

Diuretic: Evil Dead II (1987)
Where to watch: HBO

False Tracks: Basket Case III (1982)
“the “fun” basket case movie and easily one of the weirdest movies of all time. But if camp-horror isn’t your thing, just watch Argento’s Tenebrae because we have a new song called Tenebrae”
Where to watch: Tubi, YouTube

Family Garden: From Beyond (1986)
“[Stuart Gordon] the master”
Where to watch: Tubi

Fine X: The Fog (1980)
“Set in northern California, The Fog has a damp, haunting mystique unique to the northwestern part of the Pacific coastline. While not exactly Washington, the long coastal shots and haunting soundtrack evoke a dark, ominous feeling that the comes every year with the dark season in the PNW. It also begs an interesting question – how do we atone for the sins of our ancestors? This film is classic and is a great way for the squeamish and horror-averse to dip one’s toes into the genre.”
Where to watch: Archive.org, Prime

Idiot Mambo: Ginger Snaps (2000)
“Nice and angsty, bloody with good effects and cool makeup. Also its free on Tubi”
Where to watch: Tubi,

Insecticide: The Fly (1986)
“The guys decided on The Fly since it’s Insect related. Me [Jon] personally I wanted to say I drink your blood (1971), love that goofy ass flick.”
Where to watch: Hulu

Lendzian: The House Of The Devil (2009)
“This is maybe the only movie I’ve ever had to pause because the tension was too much to handle. It’s filmed in this incredible recreation of 80s horror cinematography, but it’s so much more than retro pastiche. It’s just you and the agents of Satan in a big, quiet house.”
Where to watch: Tubi, Prime

Lo Fives: Videodrome (1983)
“Cliche to say, but Cronenberg was definitely ahead of his time. Top notch practical effects, touching on the ideas of humanity’s existential horrors, and Debbie Harry, doesn’t get better than that. Long live the new flesh.”
Where to watch: Prime

Moros: 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026)
“After the disappointing 28 Years Later I put off watching Bone Temple for quite a bit. But when I learned the story centers around giant infected guy with a huge hog I had to finally give it a watch. Amazing performance by Ralph Fiennes who puts on a sick Iron Maiden themed drug ritual for the nefarious hooligans. This movie was 20x better than its predecessor in my opinion”
Where to watch: Netflix, Apple TV

Osmia: Mr. Sardonicus (1961)
“I don’t know what it is about this flick, but my wife and I watched it every night in bed for a year or something. It may be cheesy or tame by some standards, and sure, probably. The obsession can’t be explained.
Our obvious choice should probably be Texas chainsaw massacre (1974) as drummer Jason and myself saw it on the big screen for its 53rd anniversary and it’s still effective and frightening. Anyhow… Mr. Sardonicus… Watch it every night for a year and get back to me.”
Where to watch: Tubi

Songs For Omni: Necromancy (1972)
“Watch it for the Orson Welles performance. Its on par with the Paul Masson Commercials. bonus The Changeling (1980) with George C Scott It needs no recommendation from me. Its a classic.”
Where to watch: YouTube

Sandcastle: Creep (2014)
“one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen”
Where to watch: Netflix, Prime

Snow Caps: Us (2019)
“All three of those movies (Get Out, Nope, Us) are scary as hell and deal with racism in a way you don’t really get with horror. At least as far as I know. I don’t watch a lot of horror.”
Where to watch: HBO

Song People: The Night Of The Hunter (1955)
“Night of the Hunter orrrr The Forbidden Zone (Shaina’s pick)”
Where to watch: Tubi,

Spesimin: Flesh For Frankenstein (1973) & Blood For Dracula (1974)
“Flesh for Frankenstein (Shudder) & Blood for Dracula (Shudder)
Paul Morrisey’s heinous and hilarious takes on the two greatest stories ever told, with Udo Kier (almost one year gone, R.I.P.) putting all actors to shame. Must be watched back to back. Thank you, Udo!
The Pit (1981)
Is little Jamie delusional, disturbed, or just misunderstood? Whatever the case, you probably don’t wanna follow him into the woods! Thank you, Canada!
The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999)
What sounds like the most unnecessary sequel to a Stephen King adaptation is actually pretty perfect, with Carrie White’s lil sis getting in touch with her demonic DNA and laying waste to her dirtbag jock classmates (to a nu metal soundtrack). Thank you, 1999!”

Subtle Body: Saw III (2006)
“The last one we watched together was Saw III, but it was double speed because we only had an hour to watch it”
Where to watch: Gotta “rent” it

Thecla: Alucarda (1977)
“Satan! Satan! Satan! Our lord and master, I acknowledge thee as my god and Prince”
Where to watch: Archive.org

Truculent: The Beyond (1981)
“One of the best Fulci movies, whole thing is paced like your being hypnotized the ending has an eeriness that’s really difficult to describe. Sort of a cross between Heart Of Glass (1976) and Amityville (1979) with a Fabio Frizzi soundtrack. Maybe that’s giving it to much credit. It’s the second in the Gates of Hell trilogy and is pretty much always overshadowed by House By The Cemetery (1981) typical middle child issues.”
Where to watch: Tubi,

Webb Chapel: Ernest Scared Stupid (1991)
“Whole movie terrifying, opening credits used to scare me alot and then he immediately gets crushed in a trash compactor”
Where to watch: Prime
